Choosing the right operating system is important for obtaining the specific performance, security and applications that your business will need.

TurnKey Internet recommends that you select Linux Centos 5.x (Red Hat Enterprise), as this is the most widely supported and universally compatible operating system with the largest number of web hosting tools, applications, and security options. Those who are familiar with other distributions of Linux may select those options (such as Fedora Core Linux), or those who need Windows-based applications should select a Windows- based operating system (NOTE: If you need the Windows Server 2003 operating system, and you do not see it listed, you should go back and select another package that does offer Windows as an option).
